Creative ways to decorate your kid’s bedroom for Christmas. To keep with tradition as well as to get in the festive spirit, we always decorate the main living room of the house for Christmas. Nobody gets more excited about Christmas than kids, however, so why not let them bring the holiday spirit into their own bedrooms this year?

Here are seven easy ways they can create the perfect holiday haven!

1. Play Christmas tree

What child doesn’t love decorating the Christmas tree? So, why not let them have their very own in their room? Simply supply them with coloured paper and watch their imagination work as they decorate their own tree.

2. Paper snowflakes for the window

It’s not often we get a white Christmas here in Edinburgh. However, with these paper snowflakes you can pretend that Jack Frost is nipping at your windows!

3. Create a fake fireplace

A great idea for the kids’ bedrooms, this will help build their excitement on Christmas Eve. Get them to hang up homemade stockings as an added bonus.

5. Hang some lights

Christmas is not complete without special lights to make the room sparkle. These could also be used if your little one has trouble sleeping.

6. Paper chain advent calendar

While everyone knows how to make a paper chain, they are normally used just as a hanging decoration. So why not put one of your paper chains to even better use by turning it into a child’s advent calendar? Simply hang it on the back of their door and get them to rip off one day at a time. Inside each chain is a fun activity for your family to do on that day – watch a Christmas film, for example, or bake some Christmas treats.
