Our moving and storage service is ideal if you’re moving house anywhere in Scotland and are unable to move straight into your new property. Short and long-term storage is available: Ask about our long term storage discounts.

Convenient, secure location

We are located just 5 minutes from the Newbridge roundabout in Broxburn, West Lothian, near Edinburgh airport. This convenient location allows us to offer a storage service within a 30-40 minute drive of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Stirling. No need to have to drive all the way into Edinburgh to find us! Our warehouse is available to provide the very best service for our storage customers. We offer high levels of security including ring-fencing & CCTV. Access is restricted to our own authorised staff only, so no third party access, other than for our own customers.

Why store with us?

House move-in date different to your moving out date? We can store on a week to week basis. The weekly storage cost will remain the same during the period of storage and we will invoice only for the exact number of days used. The container storage system we use, combined with our modern fleet of vehicles and trained removal crews means we can do the heavy lifting, packing and stowing your belongings safely. Our staff are experts at maximising the storage space, using up all of the space in the container. Most self storage units are rarely utilised efficiently and you can often end up over-paying for a container that is really too big for your needs. Our Edinburgh storage customers find our rates very competitive. This is usually due to our location, because we don’t have expensive city centre warehouse costs.

Downsizing?

RSS are able to help if you are trying to manage the volume of furniture and effects to be moved; it can be a difficult process trying to decide on what to keep. Our de-cluttering service helps to prepare a property prior to selling, excess furniture can be stored with us on a weekly basis. Why not ask us to move items to charity. British Heart Foundation or a sale room, Lyon & Turnbull or even just for disposal. Donating furniture to family? Our part load service covers all of the UK, mainland Europe, as well as the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Moving some furniture from a property when carrying out extensions or renovations, can be very sensible. Our cost-effective storage offers the flexibility to move furniture in and our of storage at the same time, or in phases, depending on the progress of your renovations. Container storage means we come to you

Our container storage system involves bringing the containers to your property and loading your furniture and other belongings directly into the containers. All items are wrapped for protection, an inventory produced and the container sealed. This ensures that no mix up can occur with other customers and reduces the risk of damage. Your container is then securely transported to our secure storage facility. We offer free storage insurance for your belongings during the storage period.

  Some 25 years ago I used RSS and they were great. Again I went with RSS with a move of my 4/5 bed house from Livingston through to Newton Mearns, Glasgow and from start to finish, the team at RSS were fantastic. We had many worries on the day of the move, however none were from the team of guys from RSS, in fact they were amazing, nothing was an issue and very professional.   We recently used RSS for a move from Glasgow to Edinburgh, with some of our items going into storage. The day of the move, the movers (Luke and Tommy) arrived very much on time, were speedy, courteous, and an overall pleasure to work with. RSS really took the stress out of moving. RSS was top notch, exceeding our expectations and very much outperforming previous movers. They were also very competitively priced and for our move plus weekly storage, they came out to be the best value for money while still keeping quality high. We will definitely use them again. Just a quick update (2026): we ended up putting more things in storage and then recently had our personal affairs redelivered. These guys are incredible. Speedy, friendly, efficient, and very careful with both our belongings and navigating tricky corners. They blow all of the 'Man and a van' gig services out of the water. Highly recommend.

  I/we just wanted to say a gigantic thank you to you Graham, Mike, David and the rest of your team for such an efficient service. Excellent communication from first contact, fair costing and excellent range of options for pick up and delivery to suit us the clients & your business. Pick up time was given. Arrived half an hour early which suited us. We were super impressed by how quickly your team lifted our furniture up from our -difficult of access … sorry- basement flat in Glasgow and how quickly and with great care they uploaded the furniture in Bangor two weeks later. We just needed one of us to direct Mike & Callum to put the furniture in the right rooms. And hey presto! Everything worked out perfectly. That’s how removals should be… effortless efficient personable.  We will be letting our friends know about your company should they need removal services. And will contact you again should we need to remove furniture from uk to uk or uk to Europe or Europe to uk.   We’ve moved house many times and can honestly say this was the BEST experience we’ve ever had moving home (which let's face it is one of the most stressful things to do in life!!!). Graham helped sort everything from a logistics point of view via email and on the phone, and Gregor and Graeme were truly superb with our pack and move over 3 days. What nice guys! I really enjoyed chatting with them in between the packing : ) They took all the stress away, and it was a pleasure to have them around. We got lots of removal quotes, and RSS seemed like the best price/quality ratio when we booked them for the job.   We first used RSS Ltd 25 years ago for a move across Edinburgh. They were very good then and we were pleased to see they were still in business for our recent move. This time the move was from Edinburgh to Perthshire and the team did not disappoint.   Graham Byers and his team at RSS handled our move and storage seamlessly. It was a two stage move from Edinburgh to storage and then from storage to SW France, throughout the process Graham was on hand and always contactable. The removal team themselves worked hard and carefully and respectfully. The move to France involved a local french team as well as Mike from Edinburgh, the same again everything in place and carefully done. Mike was superb. The cost was reasonable and value for money. In all that just one minor breakage and Graham covered the cost of that without a quibble. Moving abroad proved quite stressful but RSS made that side of it a breeze.   RSS Ltd. provided a fantastic service when we undertook a complicated cross country move. They were very understanding and accommodating about all the delays that we experienced in the process, and went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly. On the day of the removal and delivery the lads were kind, professional and very efficient and our items were well looked after.
